Question of the Day
Today Google pulled off a pretty cool coup by being named the search engine of record for the rapidly growing Myspace Web site. This prompted me to actually google google. Odd. Anyway, do you think this indicates that the Internet is expanding or contracting? Does the union of these two young behemoths signal a widening circle or a circling of the wagons, leaving some in and some out?

Mmmmm...good question.
Not sure, however, my initial reaction is that I don't think that it really matters to me.

I'll get back to you on this

Expanding. Definitely, getting bigger. With two of the largest, most widely used Web sites in the world hooking up how can things not get bigger and better. Google is constantly adding new services and MySpace has thousands of new users everyday; greater exposure and better name recognition for both parties.

I'll get worried when Google starts releasing its tracking data to MySpace and when MySpace eventually becomes part of a government registration and tracking system that people don't have to sign up for because everyone has already logged in. To add to this point, when expecting mothers start reserving MySpace pages for their spawn then that will be too far and something will have to be done.
